In September 2019, Capsys embarked on a journey to become a key player not only in the banking sector but also in a new industry. Initially, we developed a system-level IT platform supporting services for the domestic Transmission System Operator (TSO). The project concluded with outstanding success, both methodologically and in terms of execution. Thanks to this achievement, Capsys was included in the program aimed at renewing the TSO’s central systems. Within this framework, Capsys was responsible not only for architecture design but also for development and implementation tasks.
Building on the successes of the aforementioned program, Capsys continues to participate in the second phase of this multi-year renewal initiative. Meanwhile, as Capsys has proven its reliability and high-quality delivery in the energy sector, we successfully launched a long-term project aimed at supporting high-availability, mission-critical systems.
Thanks to these successful projects over recent years, Capsys was invited to provide long-term development and support as a strategic partner for a Hungarian service provider’s ETRM system. Additionally, our experts are actively involved in the selection and implementation of trading and risk management solutions for one of the region’s most significant energy market players, assisting the client in mapping their existing infrastructure and business processes and defining IT requirements for future systems.
In the next phase of cooperation with the TSO, a system was further developed to optimize the utilization of contracted reserves based on system conditions, ensuring balanced and reliable electricity supply while striving to increase the share of green energy. A key value-add from Capsys was our central role in integrating renewable energy forecasting data into planning processes. This integration significantly improved planning accuracy and system efficiency.
This is particularly important because, in the system-level services market, bringing process deadlines closer to real-time—a goal where Capsys’s 25 years of outstanding experience in the banking sector offers unique added value—can reduce procurement costs and improve responsiveness to rapidly changing market conditions. Thanks to this, Capsys plays an integral role in the domestic expansion of renewable green energy sources such as wind and solar power.
